The Situation

In the four years since its launch, James Post—a post production house headed by Jonathan and Amy Eakin, has done a lot of growing.

Launched from a DIY desk off an avenue in NYC, its name, a portmanteau of J(onathan) and “Ames”, fit beautifully—and was loved as much as we love using the word portmanteau.

But it no longer fit the full-scale post-production company that they’d become. It was no longer a matter of growth; but evolution.

The Challenge

Rebrand James Post as “After Avenue”, creating an identity that honors their past, while paving the way for their future.

We set out to create a look and feel that was modern, sophisticated, and rightfully confident, without overshadowing the work itself.

We sought a balance that allowed their expertise to shine while maintaining a subtle, refined presence—in their branding and on their website.

The Vision

We started by crafting a visual and verbal identity that was sleek, minimalist, and reserved. It was inspired by their work—equal balance of artistic talent and technical expertise.

Using NextJS and Contentful, we built a custom website that shared the polished refinement and approachability of the new look, allowing their client work to speak for itself.

The result was a cohesive brand presence that embodied After Avenue’s creative spirit and premier services, and positioned them for future growth.
